NO PARKING ON TOWN HIGHWAY OR IN PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY
Residents please be advised that this rule is in effect November 1st - April 1st, so that Town roads can be kept clean. The Town will not be held responsible for any damage caused to portable basketball hoops that residents have in the no parking area (see below for more information).

Basketball Hoops in Town Rights-of-Way
A reminder to those who have portable basketball hoops: they are prohibited in Town highway rights-of-way. The rights-of-way on most Town highways is 50 feet to 60 feet. Therefore, we will not be held responsible for any basketball hoops placed out by the road at any time of the year. Our plow drivers have their hands full plowing around other objects as it is.
We will keep hydrants cleared as fast as we can after heavy snowstorms. The Town currently has 341 hydrants. If you would like to be helpful and have one by your house, keep it cleared. You should get a discount on your homeowner's insurance for having fire protection close to your home. I know our volunteer firefighters as well as the Water Department will appreciate your cooperation. They say time helps fight fires so please don't be afraid to adopt one of these red helpful lifesavers.
Mailbox Repair & Sand
Residents who have had their mailbox damaged will have them repaired to receive their mail in a timely fashion. If you have damage to the post that holds the mailbox, we will replace the post in the spring when the frost is out of the ground. Our plow drivers do all they can do with the winter's blinding snows and oncoming cars not to hit these objects in our rights-of-way.
The Highway Department is not responsible to keep your mailboxes completely free of snow; it is your responsibility as the homeowner.
If Town residents need sand, it is available behind the Highway Department and one of the men may assist you.
Outlet Road Brush and Yard Waste Facility
This facility is for Town residents only to dispose of brush, leaves, and lawn clippings. Residents can sign out the key Monday through Friday from 8 am to 3 pm in the Highway Office (upstairs in Town Hall, first door on the right). Please lock the gate between loads.
Street sweepers will be out by the first week in April.
Mulch is available behind Town hall, on the grass near the gate to the Highway Garage. It is also available in the parking lot of the Outlet Road Brush and Yard Waste Facility.
