Fishing Pier and Walkway Still Closed but Coming Soon!

In accordance with Chapter 1, Section 107 of the New York State Property Maintenance Code 2020; Section 107 - Unsafe Structures and Equipment.

The Building Inspector has closed the fishing pier due to winter ice damage and decay of the structure. The Town is currently working on replacing the damaged structure and its walkway, and must follow New York State Law and requirements for this process.

All building materials are in stock! 

  • Partial installation April 13th and 14th (tentative dates) of gate and first few sections. Outlet Road will remain open to traffic during installation. Pier will remain closed and blocked off until pier is fully installed.
  • Remainder of installation May 15th - 18th (tentative dates). Outlet Road will be closed to traffic during installation, times to be determined. Pier will be opened when fully installed and inspected.

The new pier will be wider and handicap accessible with two bays for launching kayaks and canoes.

Installation of the new fishing pier is anticipated for the second week of May, 2023. The complete installation is expected to take approximately 3 to 5 days.
